Social and cultural identity in Afro-Colombian people and is associated with the home community, family, traditions and cultural expressions of each region (food, music, dance). The identity is reinforced in the lives of fellow colonies in urban areas in seasons of access in rural areas, festivities and funerary rites. Afro-descendants are identified by their dancing, singing and rich oral tradition. In urban contexts the identity is associated with racial and ethnic solidarity. "My blood, " "civilian", "relative" are common expressions among urban African descent.
